The DEMANDS project is officially underway

On November 28, 2024, the consortium behind the DEMANDS project gathered for the highly anticipated Kick-Off Meeting. This pivotal event brought together partners from universities, VET experts, energy companies, and ICT experts, united by a shared mission: to empower workers, foster inclusion, and support the energy transition.

Hosted by the University of Western Macedonia in Kozani, Greece, the meeting provided an opportunity to align goals, discuss strategies, and set the stage for the project’s journey ahead. Key topics of discussion included:

  • Understanding Objectives: Exploring how DEMANDS will upskill low-skilled workers, enhance intercultural communication, and support workforce inclusion.

  • Activity Planning: Outlining the development of innovative training materials, the launch of the Open Educational Platform, and the issuance of microcredentials to validate skills.

  • Collaboration: Leveraging the strengths of each partner to ensure the success and long-term impact of the project.

The energy and enthusiasm shared by the partners set a strong foundation for what promises to be an impactful initiative.

What’s next?

The DEMANDS project is now moving into its initial phase, focusing on identifying the communication needs of workers in transitioning industries and developing resources for VET trainers. Updates on these activities, along with insights into the project’s progress, will be shared regularly.
