The DEMANDS Project and the Open Educational Platform
The DEMANDS project is a good illustration of how Moodle can be utilized to enable vocational training. Designed to enhance intercultural communication competencies of (ex)workers of the coal industry, DEMANDS aims at reskilling and upskilling low-skilled adults to make them competitive in a constantly changing job market.
One of the key elements of the project is constructing an Open Educational Platform (OEP). This platform will function as a one-stop-shop for training material, testing tools, and issuing microcredentials that address both the short-term learning needs and long-term career plans of its users.
